The Baby Listening Method

The Baby Listening Method is an approach to understanding babies by recognizing what they are communicating through their bodies and behaviors. ​This method draws from years of hands-on clinical work with babies and families, integrating nervous system awareness, body-based assessment, co-regulation, and a deep respect for babies as mammals whose bodies and brains expect touch, movement, and connection.

Baby Listening Method Foundations

Foundations is a one-day training that introduces the core principles of the Baby Listening Method. Participants learn to observe babies through a nervous system lens, recognize common tension and compensation patterns, and understand how babies are shaped by their early experiences, including pregnancy and birth.

This training builds a framework for seeing and understanding what a baby is communicating through their body, state, and behavior. We explore archetypal patterns along with practical tools for assessment and support. Foundations aims to strengthen your ability to think clearly about what you are observing and to approach babies and families with steadiness, patience, and attuned presence.

Foundations is designed for birth and lactation professionals, bodyworkers, manual therapists, parents/caregivers, and others who work closely with babies and families and want a deeper understanding of infant nervous system organization. Educational in nature, not a clinical certification.

Listening Through Touch

Listening Through Touch is a one-day workshop focused on developing touch as a way of listening rather than doing. Participants practice slowing down, tuning into their own nervous systems, and noticing the subtle responses in the body that come through light, attentive touch. The day is hands-on and interactive, building sensitivity, pacing, and presence in the hands rather than teaching techniques to fix or intervene.

This workshop deepens and embodies the foundations of the Baby Listening Method by strengthening your capacity to feel, perceive, and respond. We focus on trusting what your hands and nervous system are noticing and slowing response time before moving to action. Open to those who have completed Baby Listening Method Foundations. Educational in nature, not a clinical certification.

Clinical Mentorship

This 3 day offering is a one-to-one mentorship for practitioners who want a deeper, more immersive understanding of the Baby Listening Method.

Participants will accompany Jen to two days of home and office visits with time to discuss and debrief throughout. The third day consists of a Baby Lab where participants spend a few hours applying what they have learned with real babies, and an integration session to discuss, reflect, and deepen understanding.

Mentorship participants will have access to Jen via Marco Polo for three months to discuss cases, ask questions, and share insights as they begin integrating the work into practice.
